Endless Opportunities I Will Never Know
Year 5031.
Planet Earth.
The Nature has died since times of advent of third Christ. But progress went forward and people learned to grow electronic trees, grass and flowers which didnt differ much from the original ones and even made oxygen.
This was my first trip to such distant future.
I met a friendly guy. He was wearing a shiny electronic brown robe with long bell-bottom sleeves. He had beautiful long fingers as if he was a pianist. Long black hair and a friendly smile made him look cute.
By the way, in the future 92% Earthpeople are dark-haired and only 0.5% are other... (Not counting the alien legal guests.)
This fellow was my very distant relative. He somehow knew about my arrival and was ready for the meeting.
'But why did these trees get the name "Vangos"?' I decided to finally ask.
'In honour of Vanga. They can with us talk about the future. While eating a leaf once per 8 months - people can actually see some parts of the future and sometimes - stuff from the past.' He explained patiently.
'Wow. Can i have a try?'
'I wouldn't recommend. The leaves fade away quickly when are cut off the tree. Scientists are intensively studying them now.'
'Have you ever tried?' I was very curious about the whole thing.
'Yes, but there isn't much point. It's like tearing off a sheet of paper from a book and reading a pair of lines which won't make any sense to you.'
'Like puzzles?'
'Yep.' He took out from his pocket a shallow object which looked like a flash-card.
'What are you doing?'I kept annoying him.
'Im checking... Nobody has cut off any leaves off this tree since 7.5 months. Try, maybe you will see something,' he actually allowed me to do this.
'Okay,' I cut off a thin white half-seethrough leaf that look like a camomile petal.
I put it on my tongue and its bitter-sweet taste faded away and showed me some hallucinations. Fast ununderstandable images flashed in front of my eyes. I saw faces, events, flights, pain, fear, war and again pain...
Illegible Kaleidoscope of the Future...
And then I woke up. It was 08:08 am.
